Preterists believe biblical  prophesies concerning the "end times" have been fulfilled in the past, unlike the popular view that it is a future event yet to take place. 

Partial Preterists  (Orthodox Preterism or Classical Preterism) believe most of the prophesies have taken place, such as the destruction of the temple, the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, and the Day of the Lord (Christ coming in judgment).
