Islam
Islam
Is Allah the same God that Christians worship?
No.
1) Muslims passionately defend the unity of God, but deny his triunity. They recoil at the notion of God as Father, reject the unique deity of Jesus Christ the Son, and renounce the Divine identity of the Holy Spirit.
2) Devotees of Muhammad find it offensive to use the word Father to pray to God. By calling Him “Father” and Jesus “Son” suggests sexual procreation.
Sura 19:35
It is not befitting to Allah that He should beget a son
Sura 112:3
Allah begetteth not, not is he begotten
However, the bible doesn’t use the term “begotten” in the sense of sexual reproduction but rather in the sense of special relationship. It speaks of Christ’s preeminence. Jesus is God the Son from all eternity. There was never a time when He didn’t exist.
Colossians 1:15-17
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
3) Muslims dogmatically denounce the Christian declaration of Christ’s unique deity as the unforgivable sin of shirk.
Sura 4:116
God forgiveth not the sin of joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this.
4) Muslims do affirm the sinless nature of Christ, but deny his sacrifice upon the cross and his resurrection. In doing so, they deny the singular historic fact which demonstrates that Jesus doesn’t stand in the long line of peers from Abraham to Muhammad, but is God in human flesh.
Sura 4:157
They killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them.
5) Muslims do believe Allah raised Jesus, But this is taken to mean that Jesus was raptured.
Sura 4:158
Allah raised him up.
6) Muslims reject the divine identity of the Holy Spirit. Islam teaches that the Holy Spirit is the archangel Gabriel who dictated the Qur’an to Muhammad over a period of 23 years.

What is the public perception of Islam?
It is seen as a violent religion ?
Does the Quran support violence ?
Surah 9:29
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Some verses in the Quran when read in context communicate self-defense, however the historical and textual context of 9:29 doesn’t communicate self-defense.

The Answer: This verse is from the Bible. Deuteronomy 3:6
Is this Bible verse from the Old Testament or New Testament ?
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,So He opened not His mouth.
77 out of 115 of all backgrounds said it was from the New Testament
The Answer: Old Testament Isaiah 53:5-7
It sounds like the New Testament because it describes how Jesus would die for our sins. It was written 700 years before Jesus was born
Surah 27:18
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.

Adam in the Bible & Quran
1. Adam is created by God
Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground
The Women 4:1
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
Saad 38:71
when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay.
2. God breathes life into Adam
Genesis 2:7
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Saad 38:72
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration.
3. God put Adam in the garden to cultivate and keep it
Genesis 2:15
Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.
The Heights 7:10-18
And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated. [ Allah ] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." [ Allah ] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased. [Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." Allah ] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved." [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]." [ Allah ] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."
4. God never commands angels to bow down before men, Angels are heavenly messengers sent to those who will receive salvation
Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
In the Quran, Angels bowing before Adam in this context is out of honor and respect not an act of worship, because Allah forbids joining other gods with Him. You can see why proclaiming Jesus as Lord is a problem for Muslims.
The Women 4:116
God will not forgive the sin of considering something equal to Him, but He may forgive the other sins of whomever He wants. One who considers anything equal to God has certainly gone far away from the right path.
Iblis (the angel Satan) refused to show Adam respect
The Cow 2:34
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
In the Quran Angels know the future and question God about His plans
The Cow 2:30
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
In the The Bible, the ability to know the future is only an attribute of God revealed to men by His will.
Isaiah 48:5
Therefore I declared them to you long ago, Before they took place I proclaimed them to you, So that you would not say, ‘My idol has done them,
And my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.’
5. God warns Adam not to eat forbidden fruit
Genesis 2:17
but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
The Cow 2:35
And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
The Heights 7:19
And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."
6. Satan tells Eve that by eating the forbidden fruit she would become like God
Genesis 3:4
The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! 5 For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
In the Quran it is slightly different. Satan tells Adam & Eve that by eating the forbidden fruit they would become like angels or like beings that live forever
The Heights 7:20
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."
7. Adam & Eve eat the forbidden fruit
Genesis 3:6
When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
The Heights 7:22
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
8. God punished Satan for deceiving Eve
Genesis 3:14
The Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;
Allah punished Satan because of his pride thinking he knew better than God
The Heights 7:18
Allah said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."
9. Adam & Eve covered their shame with fig leaves
Genesis 3:7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.
The Heights 7:26
O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.
This is a symbol or sign of God. We don't have the ability to cover our unrighteousness. We are forever sentenced to death and separation from God. How does God offer hope to those who trust in Him?
10. We can only be covered with the righteousness of God
Romans 3:21-25
But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;
God didn’t see the fig leaves as as a sufficient covering for Adam & Eve. God sacrificed animals and covered Adam & Eve with animal skins.
Genesis 3:20-21
Now the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living. The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
Another sign that pointed to the sacrifice came from the Prophet, John The Baptist
John 1:29
The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
12. Adam & Eve are banished from the Garden
Genesis 3:22-24
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life. therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
13. God chose Adam to receive His grace and guidance
Ta Ha 20:120-122
Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?" And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him].
14. Animal sacrifice is accepted by God
Genesis 4:1-9
Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild with the help of the Lord.” Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground. 4 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.” Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”
Adam taught his sons Cain & Abel about blood sacrifices. God rejected Cain’s non-blood sacrifice. Abel's offering was another sign.
The Table Spread 5:27
And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him].
The Table Spread 5:30
And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers.
15. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins
Hebrews 9:22
And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.
16. Are all sins equal?
No.
John 19:11
Jesus answered, “You would have no power over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed Me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”
Jesus was referring to Judas or Caiaphas as committing the greater sin, while at the same time proclaiming preordained plan of God. God would also hold those accountable for the actions and motives of their hearts. Cain’s sin of anger and jealousy led to the greater sin of murder. However, all sin is equal in the sense that any sin separates us from God
Genesis 4:5-8
but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.” Cain [b]told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
Jesus compared anger to murder
Matthew 5:21-24
“You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not commit murder’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.
17. Jesus believed Adam was a historical figure
Matthew 19:4
And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female,
Abraham in the Bible & Quran
Abraham’s role in Islam is different from that which he plays in either Christianity or Judaism. Arab Muslims trace their lineage back to Abraham through Ishmael. The Koran teaches that Ishmael was the one through whom God’s covenant would be fulfilled. Abraham’s story in the Koran is not as extensive as that of the Hebrew account. The Koranic account of Abraham dwells mostly on a struggle going on between Abraham and his father over Abraham’s father’s idol worship. The Koranic Abraham tries to convince his father not to worship these things that cannot see, hear, feel, taste, or smell, so he leaves his father worship the true Allah and in return for his faithfulness Allah gives Abraham two sons Jacob and Ishmael, with Ishmael being the one that Abraham offered on the altar to Allah.
The Commentaries on the Koran indicate that before Ishmael was weaned, Abraham took the child and his mother to Mecca and left them there assuming that Allah would take care of them. Abraham then has a dream that tells him to sacrifice his only son, Ishmael, but before he can do so, God stops him. Later Abraham takes various trips back to Mecca to find out how Ishmael is doing and he builds, with Ishmael’s help, a “House a pilgrimage for men” devoted to Allah. The Islamic holiday, Qurbani Id (or Id Al-Adha), is known as the “Sacrifice Festival.” Muslims celebrate this “great feast of sacrifice” on the tenth day of the last month of the Muslim year. According to their doctrinal scheme, this day celebrates the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son by Hagar, Ishmael, and not Isaac as the Holy Bible records.
If the Bible is from God, then Christianity is the truth. If the Koran is from God, then Islam is the genuine system. They can’t both be true. Unlike the Koran, the Holy Bible, is made up of a sort of “DNA code,” a set of traits that identifies it as being from God, through self-revelation, from the great I AM himself. There are a number of identifying characteristics that reveal the Bible’s divine origin. The Scriptures, although recorded by approximately forty human writers, over a period of some 1500 years, contain an amazing unity of purpose and doctrine. This includes many prophecies, and detailed predictions, that are later fulfilled perfectly. Although challenged by the most renowned skeptics, the Bible has been found to be without error, and it keeps proving its own credibility over and over as time passes. Men are ever trying to “catch up” with the Scriptures, as we turn to it for archaeological expeditions, and we turn to it to find out what is going to happen in the future. The Quran says to study the Book (The Bible), because the book is one of the signs of Allah and you shouldn’t reject His Signs.
Jonah 10:95
And do not be one of those who deny the signs of God, or you will be among the losers.
Murder In The Name Of Religion
Bible verses can be taken out of context to support murder. Likewise, there are similar verses in the Quran that radicals can take out of context and act on.
Numbers 31:17
Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a m
The Repentance 9:5
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Video - Ravi Zacharias on Koran Burning - Ravi Zacharias
If you are trying to reach Muslims with the Gospel, burning the koran and offending them is not he best place to start. You will get rejected and communication will be closed. It is more productive in the long run if you can keep a line of communication open. God has given all people the knowledge that He exists and you will find statements in the Quran that reveal this. In the opening Surah of the Quran, we read what is so deeply rooted in the human condition; the desire to find the straight path to the kingdom of God.
The Opener 1:1-7
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgment, You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help. Show us the straight path, The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace; those whose portion is not wrath, and go not astray.
The heart longs for grace. So here, in the first chapter of the Quran, we have common ground to share the Gospel with the Muslim world.
Family Of Imran 3:50-51
And (I come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to Allah and obey me. Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.
Muhammad confirms the Holy Books.
The Prophets 21:91
And she who was chaste, therefor We breathed into her (something) of Our Spirit and made her and her son a token for (all) peoples.
The Table Spread 5:110
When Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favour unto thee and unto thy mother; how I strengthened thee with the holy Spirit, so that thou spakest unto mankind in the cradle as in maturity; and how I taught thee the Scripture and Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how thou didst shape of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and didst blow upon it and it was a bird by My permission, and thou didst heal him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how thou didst raise the dead by My permission; and how I restrained the Children of Israel from (harming) thee when thou camest unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed: This is naught else than mere magic;
Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet. That means everything that Jesus said must have been true. Share with Muslims the things Jesus said . To find this, we look at the testimony of those who were close to Jesus and walked with Him; the Apostles.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
That should strike a chord with Muslims because they are looking for the way.
The Opener 1:6-7
Show us the straight path, The way of those whom You have bestowed Your Grace.
Jesus is the straight path to the kingdom of God. Unless one is born again, one cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
The Cow 2:256
There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
There is no compulsion in religion. I’m not so sure of this. Compulsion is the action or state of forcing or being forced to do something; constraint. Muslims don’t allow Bibles and other religious books in their country other than the Koran. Another words, they don’t give people a choice. America must be a nightmare to them, unless they believe it can be changed to fit into their theological construct. Muslims who have moved to America know different. America is based on the teachings of Jesus. One must choose and be given the freedom to choose, although they have already been chosen before the beginning of time. If you try to present the Gospel message in a Muslim country that is considered aggressive behavior.
The Cow 2.190-192
Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
The Cow 2:98
Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers.
In the Bible, God is not an enemy to unbelievers. God's love provides a way for unbelievers to be reconciled to Him and have a relationship with Him. A relationship is something Muslims don’t have with God.
