Dr. Louis Bounoure, former director of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research, calls evolution “a fairy tale for grown-ups.”

Hank Hanegraaff, president of the Christian Research Institute calls evolution “a cruel hoax. The arguments that support evolutionary theory are astonishingly weak. While I would fight for a person’s right to have faith in science fiction, we must resist evolutionists who attempt to brainwash people into thinking that evolution is science.”

First, the fossil record is an embarrassment to evolutionists. No verifiable transitions from one kind to another have yet to be found. Charles Darwin had an excuse; in his day fossil finds were relatively scarce. Today, however, we have an abundance of fossils. Still, we have yet to find even one legitimate transition from on kind to another. So again, the bible and science don’t contradict one another. Darwin could have found his answer in Genesis. 

Genesis 1:24-25

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Furthermore, in Darwin’s day such enormously complex structures as a human egg were thought to be quite simple-for all practical purposes, little more than a microscopic blob of gelatin. Today, we know that a fertilized human egg is among the most organized, complex structures in the universe. In an age of scientific enlightenment it is incredible to think people are willing to maintain that something so vastly complex arose by chance. A single fertilized egg (zygote), the size of a pinhead, contains chemical instructions that would fill more than 500,000 printed pages.

Finally, while chance is a blow to the theory of evolution, the laws of science are a bullet to its head. The basic laws of science, including the laws of effects and their causes-energy conservation and entropy-undergird the creation model for origins and undermine the evolutionary hypothesis.

Psalm 19:1-4

NEBRASKA MAN (1922) 

While scientists were attempting to make a monkey out of a pig, the pig actually made a monkey out of the scientists. A tooth was found in Nebraska. They connected it to a mythological jawbone, the jawbone was connected to a skull, the skull was connected to a skeleton, and the skeleton was given a face, features and fur. People were waiting to see if this discovery would shed new light on the evolution process from ape to man. But Nebraska Man (Hesperopithecus Haroldcookii) was the figment of someone’s imagination, because the tooth that was found belonged to a wild pig in Nebraska.

JAVA MAN

While people have come to terms with the truth about Nebraska Man, there is a famous “apeman” that is still being circulated as fact; Pithecanthropus Erectus, the apeman that walked erect. While over time he has evolved into a new classification called Homo Erectus, millions regard him as a friendly ancestor, not just a fossil. He has a nickname, Java Man. Java man (skull cap, thigh bone and 3 teeth) was discovered in 1891 by a Dutchman named Eugene Dubois. But for almost 30 years Dubois downplayed the two human skulls that were found in close proximity, because this would have disqualified java man as humankind’s ancestor. There was another expedition that worked against Dubois as well; The Selenka Expedition, 19 evolutionists who set out to prove the validity java man had a change of heart. Their 342 page report shows that java man played no part in evolution. Despite all the evidence, Time Magazine reported java man as being a valid transitional form.

PILTDOWN MAN

Piltdown man was used for 40 years to dupe students into thinking evolution was a fact. The jaw of an ape was stained to make it appear as though it was attached to a human skull. Fossils were stained and reshaped. In 1953, it was formally declared as a fake.

PEKING MAN

To say that “hominids” like peking man and his partners are closely related to humans because both can walk is like saying that a hummingbird and a helicopter are closely related because both can fly. Peking man was originally based on an a dusty old tooth in China. Two years later peking man’s braincase was dug up. On the third dig, 14 skulls were found and an interesting collection of tools and teeth. They believed peking man used these tools. As it turns out, the 14 skulls were those of monkeys and the tools were not used by peking man, they were used on him.

One of the primary dilemmas of evolutionary theory is that it forces scientists to conclude that the cosmos in all of its complexity was created by chance.

“If chance exists in any size, shape, or form, God cannot exist. The two are mutually exclusive. If chance existed, it would destroy God’s sovereignty. If God is not sovereign, He is not God. If chance is, God is not. If God is, Chance is not.” Chance in this sense refers to that which happens without cause. Chance implies the absence of both a design and a designer. Reflect on the absurdity of such a notion. Imagine asserting that the majestic Messiah composed itself apart form Handel or that the Last Supper painted itself without Leonardo da Vinci. How can the eye, egg, or earth, each in its vast complexity, be functions of random chance? Darwin himself found it hard to swallow the notion that the eye could be the product of blind evolutionary chance, conceding that the intricacies of the eye gave him “cold shudders”. In his landmark publication, The Origin of Species, Darwin states, “To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection seems, I confess, absurd in the highest degree possible.” Furthermore, biochemist Michael Behe points out that what happens when a photon of light hits a human eye was beyond 19th century science. To Darwin, vision was an unopened black box. In 20th century science we know that each of the anatomical steps and structures that Darwin thought were so simple actually involve staggeringly complicated biochemical processes.

April 1, 2010 Smithsonian Update

Evolution IS a fact. There are changes that take place within species (micro-evolution). But the problem is that some “scientists” also say that the change from one species to another is legitimate science (macro-evolution). They also use the word evolution to describe this belief. So when discussing evolution, first determine how the word is being used. The Smithsonian is being honest about their faith in macro-evolution. Their new exhibit is “What does it mean to be human?” This is from the educator’s guide:

Misconception: 

Gaps in the fossil record disprove evolution.

Response: 

Science actually predicts gaps in the fossil record. Many species leave no fossils at all, and the environmental conditions for forming good fossils are not common. The chance of any individual organism becoming fossilized is incredibly small. Nevertheless, new fossils are constantly being discovered. These include many transitional fossils—e.g., intermediary fossils between birds and dinosaurs, and between humans and our primate ancestors. Our lack of knowledge about certain parts of the fossil record does not disprove evolution. Therefore, their lack of knowledge doesn’t prove evolution either. So why are militant atheists (Richard Dawkins) preaching this as truth? That’s a good question.

Statements Of Faith:

Charles Darwin – “At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will most certainly exterminate and replace, the savage races throughout the world.

Thomas Huxley – “No rational man cognizant of the facts, believes that the average Negro is the equal, still less the superior, of the white man.”

Really? Tell that to President Obama. Hitler’s worldview was also totally consistent with the teachings of Darwin. It was this faith that led him to believe Jews were subhuman and to murder six million people. Some reject this and insist Hitler was a Roman Catholic. I answer, “Can you be born into the Christian faith by flesh and blood?” If your mommy and daddy are Christians do you think you are automatically born into that faith? I say no. You must be born again. If there is no spiritual rebirth, you are not Christian. I’m not saying people who hold the faith of Darwin will have the sudden conviction to kill off selected races. Last month, “christians” of a militia group planned to kill off law enforcement put in place by God. How ironic.

Larry Shirley: "Very good post. The fact remains, that macro-evolution, requires as much “faith” as any religion. Most unbiased scientists will agree. I have not heard or seen a concrete account of any fossil being genuinely determined to be transitional. Many, many, so called transitional fossils have been proved to be either hoax or non-transitional. That kind of find would be the “Holy Grail” of scientific discovery and would be posted as front page news on every publication around the world. Even if a so-called “transitional” were to be discovered, it wouldn’t be enough to prove evolution beyond a shadow of a doubt. It would just make atheists even harder people to deal with. Scientist would still have the ugly problem of explaining the existence of the universe itself. This is a battle that more and more is becoming a problem for scientist lately. Almost all reputable scientist now believe in the “Big Bang” which more of a win for theists than most people realize. The idea that the universe was infinitely old, a common theory known as “stasis theory”, was at the core of explaining some of the mathematical problems that (micro) evolution presents. Think about it. If life had an eternity to evolve through tiny single step processes, evolution would have more merit. The simple fact that most reputable cosmologist believe that the universe has a definite beginning, places the probability of micro-evolution into serious question. A great example of this is found in the 50 to 60 years of research with the malaria and AIDS virus. Scientist have witnessed the reproduction of the virus in numbers greater than the combined total of all the organisms since the beginning of time and have not witnessed it evolve into anything other then malaria. There have been some single gene mutations, but nothing that would even hint that micro-evolution is possible. But that's a discussion for another time.

Objection:  “Faith’s got nothing to do with it, buddy. It’s about looking at the evidence and using logic and rational thought to come up with reasonable explanations. “Faith” is covering your eyes and ears and attributing all that you dont understand to an invisible being that your mom and dad told you to believe in.

Response:  "I guess speculation would be a better choice of words than faith, I’ll give you that.I would also say to you that there are many people that just close there eyes and ears and believe what some science teacher taught them. This great debate has gone on for so long between some of the greatest minds in science and religion. In the end it all boils down to what YOU WANT to believe."
